I'm not sure who is having more fun Catherine or Sable, although Sable isn't quite sure how he should react to the outbursts of laughter coming from the baby,

Raspberry Concert
Finally one last video for today: The Raspberry Concert. This one is especially dear, because this is sweet Catherine. She was sleepy and was trying to settle down for a nap. I love it when she gets like this!
Grandma Trish, how proud are you of your student? Has she surpassed the master raspberry blower?

Baby Soccer
Baby Soccer as we call it, is our family's favorite passtime: parents get a good laugh, baby gets lots of exercise and sleeps well, parents get happy. She will play this game for a good 30-40 minutes at a time which is a long time for a baby!

Elmo at Play
Catherine kept putting her Elmo doll in the activity station, and we thought it was pretty funny. Since I am still an amature with the video mode on our camera, I apologize about it being so dark!
Video Killed the Photograph Star
Due to the adorable vidoes on Juliette's Blog, we decided to see if our camera takes video, and what do you know, it does! So we decided to totally copy off of Juliette's parents and post some videos of Catherine at play. Keep in mind that this was my first time using the camera this way, and didn't realize I had to hold it horizontally to get the picture to be the "right" way.

The Tooth
It's happened! Catherine has a tooth through the gums finally. It has been well over a week since the bugger started making its grand appearance. Her behavior has been more or less normal. I hear some babies really have a rough go with the teeth. She won't let us get much of a look at it not to mention a picture, so for now, you will have to take our word for it.

Mother's Day
We went to the Durham Bull's game on Mother's Day, and here are a few photos from Catherine's first baseball game. She is officially an American baby!

If you can believe it, she is actually NOT crying in these two pictures. She was laughing and singing, but the camera just caught her face in the worst possible positions! I think it is hilarious.

Finally, these are the roses that Catherine and Bill got for me. They opened up immediately the next day and seemed to bloom forever! It's so nice to be appreciated.

Exploring the House
Today Catherine realized she can go any where she wants in the house. It was so amusing to watch her make this discovery. I was getting dressed in the bedroom and she crawled out of the room and down the hall to my purse to play. I watched her for a few minutes then went to wash my face. When I came back out, she had finished going down the hall and into her bedroom to play with her toys. She had such a proud look on her face! It is so nice not to have to hold her every minute of the day anymoe. My back and arms are so greatful that she is now willing to spend some time playing on her own! We have some photos from Mother's Day that we took at the baseball game, but are having some technical difficulties getting them uploaded. I will poste them as soon as they become available. Until then, here are a couple from a few days ago when she was chasing me around the house carrying the camera bag.

It's Official: Catherine Crawls!
We are amazed at how quickly children can accomplish new tasks. Three days ago, if put on the floor on her tummy, Catherine would just lay there wiggling her arms and legs and cry until one of us picked her up and carried her across the room. If she was feeling extremely ambitious, she might decide to log roll her way across the room, or get on her hands and knees for a good bounce or two. However, on the 19th, she decide enough was enough and started crawling. It was laborious, and not very pretty, but it was most definately crawling. Then yesterday, she crawled the enitre length of our living room, over to the banister, and pulled herself up all the way to standing. How does a child go from being entirely immobile to standing herself up in two days?! Absolutely amazing!
My family was also here for a visit last week, and we got some of these adorable pics.

6 Month Portraits
I took Catherine to have her first professional photos taken yesterday. The people at Portrait Innovations are amazing. She threw a fit between outfit changes, yet to look at the photos, you would never be able to tell. It was so hard to choose which poses to buy. All myself control went out the window, so Bill should probably come with me for future sessions to protect our retirement fund!
